Miscarriage & Stillbirth

Miscarriage is the spontaneous loss of pregnancy, often occurring before the 20th week that can be both physical and emotionally painful. Unfortunately, miscarriages occur often because the fetus isn’t developing normally or can happen as a result of stress. A stillbirth is the death or loss of a baby before or during delivery. Both miscarriage and stillbirth are forms of pregnancy loss; however, they differ significantly according to when the loss occurs. It is difficult to deal with losing a baby at either stage and counseling or grief support is highly recommended to assist with the overwhelming emotions.
